Elise & Ariel’s Wedding
We first met Elise at the Wedding Salon bridal show at the SLS hotel about a year and a half ago. Elise and Ariel had only been engaged for about 2 weeks at the time!
Elise and Ariel met in film school. The instructor was giving a 3 point lighting demonstration, and Elise agreed to be the model. She definitely caught Ariel’s eye as he listened with added attention. Such an adorable “meet cute” for film school sweethearts. I just love to hear them tell this story!
We attend many many weddings a year, and some are beautiful, some are simple, some are romantic- but our favorite weddings are those like Elise and Ariel’s that are filled with genuine meaning, love, and a personality that is truly their own. It was really important to them that all of their family and friends be in the moment with them during the ceremony. So they decided to have an “unplugged” ceremony and asked their guests not to be distracted by recording but to take in this moment with their hearts and minds. Without their recording devices, their guests were actively engaged in the ceremony which resulted in much more attention, smiles, laughter, and celebration than most other ceremonies. It was such an extreme honor to be the ones documenting this important occasion for them. Thank you Elise and Ariel for this privilege.
The wedding was held at The Victorian in Santa Monica and as the ladies got ready upstairs the guys got ready in the “speakeasy” downstairs. Their ceremony was held outside in front of a beautiful museum building and a hand-made multi-color heart display as a backdrop- the hearts even had googly eyes! The ceremony included not only lovely moments with family and friends but also a special visit from an adorable sock puppet named Aloysius.
So many special moments and details filled the day – below is a snippet of the getting ready, ceremony, and portraits.
