On August 1, I had the privilege of documenting Eleanor and Pablo’s beautiful wedding at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange, CA.

This wedding had an extra special meaning. Eleanor and Pablo were married at this same church 50 years ago. And on this golden anniversary they decided to renew their vows to each other in front of their life long friends, their children, and their grandchildren.

Although they have spent the last 50 years as husband and wife, Pablo was still nervous while awaiting his bride in the moments leading up to the ceremony. He joked later ” I’ve made it this far. I don’t want to mess it up now.”

It has been such a pleasure getting to know Eleanor over the past several months. She is a woman of elegance and grace. She is a total sweetheart and always so kind hearted and welcoming to others. She also has a wonderful sense of style! I can certainly understand why Pablo found her and never let her go.

Pablo is a classic guy. He love cars and hanging out with his buddies. The way he loves Eleanor and looks at her with such passion and romance after all these years together is endearing. Awww… “Eleanor and her Silver Fox!” 50 Years together and still as in love as ever.

Eleanor and Pablo, thank you for inviting me into your lives and for allowing me to capture this once in a lifetime love and celebration of yours.  It was such an honor spending the day with you and your family and friends. Your love is an inspiration, and I wish you many many more years of wedded bliss! – With Love…Jessica

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am proud to introduce to you Tina Fells “The Pirate Bride” and her handsome “Naval Officer” Jeremy.

I first met Tina at a bridal show at the Anaheim Convention Center last fall. She kindly introduced herself to me and mentioned that she was having a “pirate wedding.” I thought at first that by “pirate wedding” she meant she might have a few pieces of red, black, and white decor and some nautical accents here and there. That is DEFINITELY NOT what she meant. She meant she was having a PIRATE WEDDING!!! And it was going to be the pirate wedding of the century!

When I arrived to photograph the “groomsmen” getting ready I either entered the headquarters of British Admiralty circa the 1700s or a “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie set complete with costume designer and seamstress on hand. It was fantastic!

The ladies dressed below deck on the Tallship American Pride. Their attire included lace-up corsets, swords, beautiful colorful layers of fabric, and of course lots of bling (aka “pirate booty”.) Even the bride’s bouquet was a collection of “pirate booty” which incorporate many beautiful brooches some of which were borrowed or passed along from important family members.

A lovely ceremony was held on deck aboard the Tallship American Pride on the open sea. Tina and Jeremy were surrounded by British Admiralty of various ranks, Pirates, and Wenches, among others. There was beautiful singing and even a few sword fights aboard the vessel. The “pirate bride” raised her sword to anyone who should object to the marriage and walk the plank!

There are so many more details that I could share, but I will let the preview photos below show the story.

I knew based on Tina’s passion and enthusiasm in our conversations that it was going to be amazing, but when I arrived that day was much more creative, exciting, and entertaining than I ever could have imagined. Jessica and Craig held their wedding at the beautiful Turnip Rose Promenade Gardens in Costa Mesa, CA.

Jessica and Craig had such a wonderful wedding day. The day began when they each arrived at the Turnip Rose to get ready. They ready in their private bridal suites, and once all dolled up they headed to their “first look”. The “first look” was awesome because there is a mini vineyard nearby, and it was such a fantastic and romantic spot for them to see each other for the first time on their wedding day!  We absolutely love Craig’s smile when he first saw Jessica! So sweet.

They held their ceremony in the lovely outdoor garden gazebo. We really enjoyed how engaged their family was during the ceremony. Such loving attention and expressions. And it didn’t hurt that the ring bearer and flower girl were SUPER adorable!

We feel so incredibly honored to have been invited to share in this day and get to meet Jessica and Craig’s friends and family.

There were many special moments throughout the day. A few of our favorites were when we got to take romantic bridal portraits with Jessica and Craig.  As a couple, they have this fantastic blend of sophisticated and glamorous while also sweet and romantic which we adore!
